We have an exciting new update coming to Megopoly this week that we can’t wait to share with you and it’s all about dice!
A brand new dice tray
The first thing players will notice is that dice pools are now capped at six dice, and only single dice. No more double dice (for now). The dice that populate the new dice tray are randomly selected from 1 - 6, so they will feel more like players are physically rolling their dice and having to work with the random outcomes. Players can roll multiple of the same dice, for example, a pool could refresh and look like 1, 2, 3, 3, 6, or any other combination of dice.
Mystery dice are gone as well, so players will always be able to plan their rolls with all the information about their dice. They may come back sometime in the future so they’re not gone forever!
Refresh your dice!
Another new feature coming with the update are dice refreshes. Once players use all the dice in their dice tray they can use a refresh to roll a whole new set of randomly generated dice. A dice pool refresh will happen when players use the last die in their tray or by clicking the refresh button to manually receive new dice. Refreshes will manually refill by one over a period of time until it reaches the maximum of five and as soon as one is used a timer will start counting down the time until players recover that refresh.
When players level up they will also gain refreshes equal to their max number of refreshes. This means that players can go over their max number of refreshes temporarily. If a player has two refreshes left with a max of five and gains a level, they will have a total of seven refreshes to use. Once they use the two extra refreshes they won’t be able to recover them over time, they’re just a little bonus for leveling up!
With this update, chips are more important than ever! With Movement Chips, players will have to carefully plan their rolls and modify them to reach their destinations. Since we are making refreshes an automated system we are modifying Refresh Dice Chips. Now, players will be able to collect Refresh Cards. Fundamentally they operate the same but are more in line with our current direction for Megopoly. Players can earn Refresh Cards by landing on various bonus spaces and are stored in their inventory, similar to the Thief and Revenge Cards.
When used, a Refresh Card will automatically refresh the dice in a player’s pool, giving them a whole new set of dice to use that does not affect the number of refreshes the player has. If a player runs out of refreshes and does not want to spend Coins, the Refresh Cards are the way to go!
We’ve talked enough about the dice updates so why don’t you hop into Megopoly and give them a try!
